I was waiting for this day for quite some time. We started off class by chanting the Shakespeare poem “Double, double toil and trouble” from Macbeth. Everytime, we got to the “ALL” part, I had all of my kids chant, and I threw water into my cauldron atop of dry ice to make it smoke. Then, afterward we talked about the imagery in the poem and passed out pumpkin bread with chocolate chips in them alongside with apple cider. We finished the day by reading Poe’s “The Tell-tale Heart” and we discussed it. The day was spent talking about the scary story, and whenever they would get into it, I would move my robotic spider around on their desks and scare them outta their pants! We concluded the day with me wishing the a happy Halloween and give them Halloween goodie bags. It was awesome.
I finally gave my kids what I always wanted. I legitimately magical day at school, something every fantasy geek wants deep down inside.
